Known as The Villa Casa Cascaurina, this mansion is one of the most photographed properties in Miami Beach. It is a must-see destination located in the heart of South Beach at 1116 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach.
History of The Versace Mansion:
Built in 1930 by Alden Freeman, the son of a wealthy businessman linked to The Rockefeller's Company, the mansion was designed to resemble the Alcazar De Colon, the oldest residence in the western hemisphere. It houses several historical items, including a bronze statue, The Kneeling Aphrodite, sculpted in 1928.
This stunning residence was later owned by the famous designer Giovanni Versace. Sadly, Gianni was murdered at the age of 50 on July 15, 1997, on the front steps of this Miami Beach mansion.
This property currently functions as a restaurant and hotel. A great way to explore the interior is by enjoying lunch at Gianni's Restaurant, as dinner can be pricey. To make a reservation or learn more about this mansion, visit their website: The Villa Casa Cascaurina.
