Pigeon Key Tour
Pigeon Key - A Hidden Gem!

The Pigeon Key hike is a unique experience! This spot used to be Henry Flagler's work camp during the construction of the overseas railroad. I highly recommend taking the tour when you're on the island. You'll pick up a ton of history about that era and get a sense of what life was like for the workers back then. It’s $15 per person if you walk over the bridge. If you’d rather take the train, it’ll cost you $28 per person.

Of course, I suggest you walk over the bridge—after all, this is a walking blog! You'll kick off your adventure on the Marathon side of the Seven Mile Bridge. The path is on the old part of the bridge and has been freshly repaved. It's a two-mile stroll to Pigeon Key and two miles back. You'll enjoy stunning water views the whole way. Last time we were there, we even spotted a pod of dolphins!

When you get to the island, feel free to take the historical tour, watch the fish feedings, check out the gift shop, and take a walk on the pier. You can enjoy the small 5-acre island for as long as you like. Keep an eye out for Edgar, the local egret. He's a big fan of the fish feedings and enjoys hanging out with visitors, especially if you're munching on a snack.

Check out the directions below—they're super simple, no way to get lost on this outing. I love discovering hidden gems wherever I go, and this one's definitely worth an afternoon visit. Hope you have as much fun as I do. Keep an eye out for more unique experiences coming your way!
