There's no better way to immerse yourself in the local culture than by visiting a farmers market or flea market in the area! With beautiful weather year-round, The Florida Keys make a perfect destination for enjoying open-air markets.


Whenever I'm exploring a new destination, I make it a point to incorporate these markets into my walking or hiking route. It's another amazing way to experience a town or city on foot.


Upper Florida Keys Farmers Markets & Flea Markets

We will travel north to south, beginning with the Upper Keys of Florida. This area stretches from Mile Marker 108 - 72, including Key Largo, Tavernier and the fishing mecca Islamorada.


Key Largo:

  • Key Largo Artisan Market:

    - Located at Dolphins Plus Bayside, 101900 Overseas Highway, Mile Marker 102

    - Monthly: Open first Tuesday of the month 5pm - 8pm  (October - April)

Middle & Lower Florida Keys Farmers Markets & Flea Markets

The Middle Florida Keys are situated south of Islamorada and lie between Mile Markers 72 to 47. This region includes Marathon, the largest city and "heart" of the Middle Keys, and stretches to the Seven Mile Bridge.


The Lower Florida Keys begin on the west end of the Seven Mile Bridge, at Mile Marker 40 and continue to Mile Marker 4, just before Key West. Big Pine Key is considered the hub of the lower keys and is home to a very popular, community-focused weekly flea market.
