Annapolis is such a charming town, perfect for a girls' day out or a weekend escape! It offers fantastic shopping at one-of-a-kind boutiques, delicious dining options, local art galleries, and opportunities to cruise the Chesapeake Bay, all set in a beautiful waterfront location. What's not to love?
Here are the top 8 things to do I recommend for an amazing day or weekend in Annapolis with your girl crew, or really anyone you like to spend time with. No need for a car or transportation - all of these activities are within walking distance (see maps at the bottom of this post).
Bitty & Beau's Coffee & Annapolis City Dock Start your day with a coffee at Bitty & Beau's Coffee and enjoy the scenery of Annapolis City Dock. They serve delicious coffee and baked treats, but their unique mission sets them apart. Bitty & Beau's is dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Love this place!
William Paca House & Gardens You must visit this historic house! William Paca, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, lived in Annapolis from 1759 to 1780. You have the option to explore the home with a guide or at your own pace. Additionally, the elegant 2-acre gardens are truly beautiful!
Antiquing on Maryland Avenue Maryland Avenue is a charming street off of State Circle offering shops, art galleries and restaurants. You will find 3 antique shops here: Silk Road Antiques, Evergreen Antiques & True Vintage and Roberta Bell Vintage Treasures. Happy hunting for your next treasure!
Tour the Maryland State House
The Maryland State House is the oldest state capitol still in use and the only one that once served as the nation's capitol. Every year, it’s where the Maryland General Assembly meets for three months. It’s also home to the offices of the state’s top leaders, like the governor, lieutenant governor, speaker of the House of Delegates, and president of the Senate. It's open every day to the public and I highly recommend you take a look!
Afternoon Tea at Reynold's Tavern
Reynolds Tavern Afternoon Tea is one of my favorite activities in Annapolis! The teas and selection of sweets and savories are delicious and very reasonably priced. The tavern is steeped in history. It was originally built in 1747 and has served many different purposes through the years. Reynolds started as a hat shop and tavern, then a boarding house, bank, library, and back to a tavern again. The Tea Room is open from 11 am to 5 pm, seven days a week.
Main Street Shopping
After enjoying your afternoon tea, just head around Church Circle until you hit Main Street, the heart of historic downtown Annapolis. It's packed with everything Annapolis is known for—great food, art, shopping, and stunning historic buildings. The area is always vibrant and offers plenty of places to eat, shop and explore.

Annapolis MD Main Street Miss Anne II Boat Cruise
Now let's set sail! The Miss Anne II offers a fun, smaller cruise that navigates up Spa Creek, taking you through the quaint residential areas of old Annapolis and Eastport. When we went, our captain was very friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with interesting little known facts about the area. It's very affordable and drinks and snacks are available onboard.
The Goat for Dinner I absolutely love this place! Slighty off the beaten path, The Goat is in a great central downtown location. They offer amazing cocktails and have a fresh, unique twist on Mexican dishes. The ambiance is both cozy and chic. I've eaten here many times, and they never fail to impress. It's certainly a hidden gem!
As mentioned above, all of these fantastic destinations are within walking distance of each other. Below please find google and plotaroute walking maps to guide you on this great Annapolis Girls' Day Out.
